About 45 men from Iowa gathered at the home of Tom and Josh for a delightful Christmas Party.
The Des Moines Chapter formed in September of 2012 and we are seeing a great deal of interest. One of the challenges of a new chapter is educating the LGBT community about Prime Timers and how it differs from other organizations. We started with a nice brochure and a Facebook page. We have found it important to stress that PTCI is affiliated with a much larger community of gay/bisexual men, Prime Timers World Wide.
We quickly developed a mailing list of over 100 men and are hopeful that many of these men will become members of Prime Timers of Central Iowa. In January we will elect our first permanent board. We've been operating with an ad hoc board until we were able to get a permanent set of by-laws, work out details of membership application, and developing our initial social events.
