Primer Timers of Phoenix held their Second Annual Fall Picnic in Rio Vista Park on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Sixty-three members attended the picnic catered by Dillon's Kansas City Style BBQ. They served pulled pork, brisket, chicken, and all the picnic trimmings. The meal was followed with birthday cake to recognize and celebrate the birthdays of our four members who are Nonagenarian, a person who is 90 to 99 years old. They are pictured below from youngest to oldest: Dean Wells, 90 years old and a PTOP Board Member, John Strobel, 91 years old, Ken Todd, 91 years old and Jan Janecek, 97 years old. Happy Birthday to these handsome men, and we wish them many more birthdays! Both Dean and Jan attended the picnic!

On March 10, 2018, members of the Prime Timers of Phoenix hopped on board the Desert Belle, a restored sightseeing vessel at Saguaro Lake for a 90-minute cruise. Saguaro Lake is the fourth Arizona reservoir on the Salt River formed by the Stewart Mountain Dam. The lake is located about 40 miles from downtown Phoenix and its named for the Saguaro Cactus that stand majestically in the surrounding desert landscape.

John Rachau, President of Prime Timers of Phoenix and Bill Holderby, Board Member at Large delivered the chapter's donation of canned goods and a check for $100 from Woody's Legacy Funds on Saturday, July 8, 2017, to the Joshua Tree Feeding Program. Joseph Gaxiola, Chairman, accepted the generous donation and gave John and Bill a tour of the facility while explaining how the program works.

It was in March 1966 when Bob Sorensen and Jimie Swensen first met in the only gar bar in Salt Lake City, The Radio City Lounge. Fifty-one years later, they are still a couple living in Phoenix with their two little doggies, Minnie and Maude.
