The Prime Timers of the Desert is offering a trip to the Getty Center. The facility describes itself as Art and Architecture at the top of Los Angeles. The trip consists of round trip transportation and venue admission. Participants will have lunch on their own at several on site choices.

The chapter held its August picnic at Woodland Park. Some members went to the free viewing of the 1985 movie "My Beautiful Launderette". The July potluck and movie was held in a member's home. In August, it will be held at The Cuff, a commercial establishment.

High Sierra Prime Timers celebrated their 18th anniversary in June. Members and some guests attended. Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, chicken, corn on the cob, beans were served. There were leftovers to take home. Also planned for June was a day trip to Beckworth, Cleo, and Portola, California. The draw was a trip to the farmers' market for shopping, lunch in Clio, and ice cream treats in Portola. At a recent membership meeting, it was decided to have the meetings combined with a Monday lunch.

Phoenix, Arizona

The chapter is trying a Phone-a- Friend program. An August trip is planned to Phoenix's Musical Instrument Museum with 6800+ instruments on hand. Chuck Walko published a new novel Greenwich village Tales. Has also published Robbie Keps the Key. The newsletter shows smiling faces of members on the train during the Verde Canyon Railroad Trip.
