What better way to kick off your Labor Day weekend than a relaxing excursion aboard the Gateway Clipper! Join Pittsburgh Prime Timers board member Robert on this one-hour classic tour of Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers on Thursday, August 29 at 8:30 p.m.
The tour provides an overview of the city, highlighting significant buildings, landmarks, bridges, and lush landscape visible from the Three Rivers. The captain and on-board narrator will share fun and historic stories about life in Pittsburgh and on the rivers.
Here are the details:
Boarding opens at 8:00 p.m. Sail time is 8:30 p.m. sharp.
The dock is to the left of the Sheraton hotel at Station Square, and down the ramp.
Park at the Sheraton lot or at the parking garage by the hotel.
Senior citizen fare is $11.00; that’s half price. It’s not likely that you’ll need to reserve a ticket in advance, but to be safe, call 412-355-7980. You will still be asked to show your proof of age at the dock ticket kiosk.
If you’re buying a ticket at the dock, note that ticket sales close at 8:20 p.m.
Even if the afternoons are hot and muggy, it’s cool on the rivers in the evening this time of year. Consider bringing a light jacket.
